Findlay Prep – for The Season

I’ll be posting some photos over the next weeks, and possibly months, of Findlay Prep basketball.  I took some still photos of them for a friend of mine who makes a video series of Findlay Prep,  “The Season”.

I do so prefer black and white photos.  There’s just something that feels better about them.

Everyday Heroes – Matthew Ryan Hutchison – American Red Cross – 2012

Youth Good Samaritan
Matthew Ryan Hutchison

When a family loses their home to a fire, they usually flee their homes with only the clothes on their backs.  When 14-year old Matthew Hutchison learned that many families in Las Vegas were losing everything, he decided he would do something to help.  Matthew started a drive to collect money for the project and assembled 150 clothing packs for the American Red Cross to give to those families who lost their home to a fire.

James Brathor was on his way home from work when he observed a head-on collision on Hwy 95.  Both cars had caught on fire upon impact.  James pulled over and immediately sprang into action, jumping over the median to find a man trapped inside the burning car, struggling to free himself.  Without thought to his personal safety, James successfully pulled the man out of the car just before the vehicle became totally engulfed in flames.

Everyday Heroes – Jonah Schreiner – American Red Cross – 2012

Aquatics
Jonah Schreiner

Jonah Shreiner, age 17, was doing his homework one evening after school when he realized that the house was unusually quiet and his 18-month old sister was nowhere to be found.  He noticed the dog door leading to the pool area was open, and he ran outside to find his little sister floating face down in the pool.  The training he received just months before to become a lifeguard kicked in.  He pulled the toddler from the water and performed CPR for an agonizing 4 minutes before she regained consciousness.  Jonah’s sister is alive today because of his lifeguard training and quick actions.
